Small Town Saints
Originally Jim and Dennis had only intended to adopt two children. However, after they adopted their second child, details of her previous living situation begin to surface. Details that involved familial rape, drugs and physical abuse, all of which were still happening to her brothers and sisters. Moved by her story, the Curry's soon found themselves adopting the entire family. All eight children are considered special needs and their conditions range from developmental delays, to Angelo, who was born addicted to heroine, and suffers from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. While both parents share equal responsibilities, the children could officially only be adopted by Dennis, since Kentucky does not grant same sex couples adoption privileges.
